Two fan-favorite genre TV series have added some extra sparkle for their upcoming seasons.

Fringe” has cast Meghan Markle in recurring role of a young FBI agent.  This part was involved in some hubub earlier this summer, when it was discovered this character would displace first season regular Kirk Acevado’s character of Charlie Francis.

Markle has done a good bit of series guest-star work, but her most visible outing came as a case girl on several episodes of NBC’s “Deal Or No Deal”.

Over at the CW, “Smallville” has found their General Zod, most nasty of all Kryptonian bad guys, with the very recognizable U.K. native Callum Blue

Blue, best known for his work in “Dead Like Me”, “The Secret Life of a Call Girl” and the short-lived “Related”, will take on this big-bad role for season nine, which is expected to center around the lost Kryptonian city of Kandor.
